OddLab: Anatomy of Belief
How do we pray? How do our bodies perform belief? Responding to an environment of growing intolerance, this movement piece delves into 4 universally familiar gestures of praying - bowing, kneeling, lowering the forehead to the floor and bringing the palms together. By breaking down these gestures in time and dispersing them through space, an embodied case for the secular is made. Herein the audience is invited to explore the performative language of belief. Ages 16+
Kallo - A Dramatised Reading
Set in a small UP town in pre-partition India, Kallo is a story about two women rejected by society who find solace in each other. The protagonists - Kallo & Mushtari Bano - rediscover meaning in their lives after they begin living together. Written by Urdu author Sameena Nazeer, this tale is reminiscent of the era of Ismat Chughtai which similarly explored female desire as it played out. Fouzia Dastango's flair for the Urdu language adds the right chutzpah to savour the times. Ages 16+
Head Space: Monthly Improv Session 3
Our first workshop with Kaivalya convinced us about the wonders of improv for mental wellness. So much so, that we're kicking off a monthly series of improv sessions aimed at fostering a community centered around support & sharing. By integrating performance exercises with broader ideas of safety & acceptance, Headspace offers a space to play, participate & engage with others - themes linked to overall positivity. In Session 3, facilitator Varoon P. Anand explores the "Fear of Failure".

Qinara - A Piano Recital
We've relished Vasudeva's performances for their effortless meld of technical ability and an emotive quality that touches aficionados and newcomers alike. His earlier piece titled UnRecital at OddBird expressed the tribulations of a classical pianist in India. Now, debuting his original compositions, the set serves as a response to the mood of his previous work. With classical and contemporary influences, this 'recital' puts the instrumentation at the heart of the listener's experience. Ages 16+
