PARTNERING & CREATION TOOLS

Based on the vocabulary of the ensemble wherein the mechanics of the body are observed and utilised to multiply paths and approaches to understanding movement and the body. The facilitators will work on developing work through partnering, finding a common axis between two bodies, counterweight, balance and moving together in space. With these elements, participants will be able to make their own tools to improvise and create movement material.

The workshop is aimed at professional dancers, dance students and others interested in developing further knowledge of movement.

About the Facilitators:
Guy Nader | Maria Campos is an independent ensemble based in Barcelona, Spain, since 2006. The Lebanese and Spanish artists have been collaborating in several creations presented in multiple international festivals and venues. Guy Nader is an associated artist in La Caldera dance and scenic arts creation centre in Barcelona and both are artists in residence at Graner creation centre in Barcelona. Guy was awarded the first prize in Masdanza International Festival for his solo -Where The Things Hide. He has worked and collaborated with Maqamat Dance Theatre, La Intrusa Danza, Bebeto Cidra, Iliacan, Roser López Espinosa, Mickael Marso, among others. Maria Campos studied at SEAD in Austria and graduated from the Amsterdam School of the Arts (MTD) in 2003. She has worked with Meekers, Protein Dance, Sol Picó, Angels Margarit/Cia. Mudances, among others. GN | MC have developed together a partnering vocabulary common in their work and a constant element that sets up a specific movement interest in their pieces.
