Irshad 2025: A Sharing of Process and Play
Past Event

The Bargad Theatre Fellowship is a fully funded, four-month intensive for emerging theatre-makers - rooted in process, play, and performance-making. Over months of rigorous training and collaboration with artists from across the country, a cohort of 14 practitioners has been building tools, trust, and their own distinct voices. Oddbird has been part of this journey from the very beginning, witnessing their growth, curiosity, and creative risk-taking. Irshad 2025 is their first public sharing - a moment of bloom, where process and play come together on stage.

TICKETS

Tickets are pay as you want  - a choice led by Bargad to ensure that the performance remains accessible to everyone. You’re invited to choose the price that works for you - your presence matters most.

If you're able to contribute the full ticket price and more, the suggested amount is ₹600. Contributions above that are always welcome. Every rupee goes directly toward supporting the Bargad Theatre Fellowship and the artists behind this work.

The evening features two devised performances, each mentored by leading artists in the field.

Performance I: Jugnuon Ki God Mein

Between truly knowing someone and believing what we've been told about them, there lies a fragile thread - spun by an unseen voice that mediates, meddles, and mythologises. This performance follows that thread: circling the stories we inherit, the ones we’re told, and the ones we lose ourselves in. It asks what it means to meet someone face to face, without distortion - and whether that’s possible at all. Through gesture, presence, and fragments of conversation, Jugnuon ki God Mein seeks the one who stands in between - the invisible hand that shapes what (and who) we think we know.

Mentored by Dhwani Vij; and performed by Aman, Ashish Narwariya, Hare Krishna, Megha, Neeraj Kumar, Ramni Dhiman, Sonia.

Performance II: Kacchi Chhat

Home is a word we all know, but it lives in us as something deeper: a sensation, a memory, a quiet returning. Where do we feel at home? What does it mean to make one? This performance is a tracing of those questions - through memory, movement, and reflection. It turns inward, uncovering the subtle terrain of what 'home' feels like, beyond brick and address. In this process of discovery, the cohort found that home is not always a place - but a shifting, intimate landscape we carry within us. Kacchi Chhat is an attempt to draw its contours, however softly.

Mentored by Savita Rani; and performed by Altaf Hussain, Anjali, Kajal, Lalit Kumar, Mani, Rishita Makkar, Sunny Kumar "Bozo".

We invite you to experience these new voices as they take root and rise.
